The photographer Cristina Del Barco will present her latest and most personal exhibition, LUTO, at the Pandora Art Gallery in Kreuzberg, Berlín. The show commemorates the tenth anniversary of the death of the artist’s father, offering a poetic and intimate ritual of mourning.
LUTO invites viewers to embark on an introspective journey through the artist’s lens, walking through the emotional labyrinth of loss. Cristina Del Barco’s evocative images provoke deep reflection on the complex fabric of human experience, where pain intertwines with resilience, vulnerability coexists with strength, and darkness ends up yielding to the transformative power of understanding and acceptance. Through 20 black-and-white portraits charged with intensity, Del Barco explores the emotional terrain of grief and memory, using different textures as evocative metaphors for family, fragility and resilience.

Cristina Del Barco is a Madrid-based photographer with more than two decades of international career.
Her work has been exhibited in major cultural capitals, such as the Chelsea Hotel (New York) and Art Basel Miami, among others. Recognized for her sincere gaze, she portrays her subjects embracing their darkness with dignity, revealing beauty, strength and vulnerability in equal parts. Her photographs usually focus on artists and musicians of the underground scene, creating cinematic and intimate portraits with surreal nuances.
The opening will be curated by Petra Flurr, icon of the Berlin underground, who will present an exclusive musical selection created especially for the occasion, enhancing the symbolic atmosphere of the exhibition. Petra Flurr is a Berlin-based artist and key figure of the underground scene, known for a raw, transgressive sound that fuses EBM, punk, synth and electro. Petra Flurr is also the founder of Sabbat Berlin, a series of dark queer events that celebrate subculture and performative experimentation.
In addition, there will be live performances that will take the experience to a more sensory level:
Somnia Vera, a sound artist born in Greece and based in Berlin, whose experimental performances combine noise, hypnotic rhythms and dreamlike textures. The artist’s work explores the blurred boundaries between nightmare, perception and reality.
Lounja, a multidisciplinary Algerian artist working at the intersection of music, performance and video. The artist’s strongly political solo project fuses electronic textures with North African rhythms, inviting the audience to immersive ritual experiences.
Together, artists and attendees will take part in a mourning ritual, in which emotion and solemnity will intertwine, creating an environment of deep introspection and collective connection. The exhibition LUTO will be a space where every detail will invite reflection on loss and grief, in an act of memory and unity.
