Trentemøller presenta «Terrified», primer adelanto de su nuevo álbum

«Terrified» es el primer adelanto del nuevo álbum de Trentemøller, disco que está previsto para ser publicado en noviembre de este año, y que todavía no dispone de título. Esta track combina una letra que transita entre el pensamiento en estado puro con la voz etérea y reconfortante de Jonas Bjerre (Mew), quien afronta de lleno y sin tapujos el espectro del miedo.

«Creo que, a veces, cuando sueñas con cosas que te asustan o te generan inquietud, es tu mente la que realmente intenta prepararte para cualquier escenario posible; una forma de procesar catástrofes que nunca han ocurrido y que quizá nunca lleguen a suceder», explica Bjerre.

Por su parte, Trentemøller recuerda cómo transformó la canción durante el proceso de producción: «Terrified es probablemente el tema más pop del álbum. En su versión original sonaba mucho más shoegaze, pero quería que fuese más nítido y definido, menos difuso. Por eso opté por sintetizadores que casi parecen voces humanas, con una cualidad mágica y de otro mundo». Una vez terminada la base instrumental, el músico se la envió a Jonas Bjerre junto con algunas ideas, especialmente para las melodías. «Él las desarrolló y, además, aportó nuevas melodías propias», añade Trentemøller.

El lanzamiento de «Terrified» llegará acompañado de un videoclip producido por el propio Jonas Bjerre, previsto para finales de agosto. El nuevo álbum verá la luz el 13 de noviembre.

Trentemøller presents «Terrified», the first single from his new album

«Terrified» is the first single from Trentemøller’s new album, which is scheduled for release in November of this year and does not yet have a title. This track combines lyrics that wander through pure thought with the ethereal and comforting vocals of Jonas Bjerre (Mew), who tackles the spectrum of fear head-on and without restraint.

«I think sometimes when you dream about things that scare you or make you anxious, it’s actually your mind trying to prepare you for any possible scenario; a way of processing catastrophes that have never happened and perhaps never will,» Bjerre explains.

For his part, Trentemøller recalls how he transformed the song during the production process: «‘Terrified’ is probably the most pop-oriented track on the album. In its original version, it sounded much more shoegaze, but I wanted it to be sharper and more defined, less fuzzy. That’s why I opted for synths that almost sound like human voices, with a magical, otherworldly quality.» Once the instrumental base was finished, the musician sent it to Jonas Bjerre along with some ideas, especially for the melodies. «He developed them and also contributed new melodies of his own,» Trentemøller adds.

The release of «Terrified» will be accompanied by a music video produced by Jonas Bjerre himself, scheduled for late August. The new album will be released on November 13th.
